Reading: I have been watching Game of Thrones for the past two seasons (and am totally obsessed,) and have heard amazing things about the books from coworkers and friends, so I decided to check them out myself. They're SO good y'all! I'm just starting the second book, A Clash of Kings and it's proving just as wonderful. (Thanks to Danielle for hooking me up with the books!) I also just finished The Anti 9 to 5 Guide which has been really great during my job hunt. It's not only opened my eyes to the possibilities out there but it has made me realized that it's okay not to find the "dream job" right off the bat, (I'm having to work on this whole patience thing.)

Watching: Fall is HERE which means the return of SO MANY of my favorite shows! Obviously I'm loving the return of Parks and Rec and my boyfriend Ron Swanson, but I'm also ecstatic about the return of Treme and Homeland (which is basically the greatest spy show EVER. I'm on the edge of my seat every single week! I'm also gorging on a couple of guilty pleasures, especially The Voice and Real Housewives of New York. (Oh my god guys I could gossip about RHNY allllll day long, isn't Ramonya INSANE?!? I'm salivating for the reunion show. And I'm aware that I should be ashamed for saying that...) In my spare time I'm still catching up on Lost and Downton Abbey (which I think is the best thing that ever happened to me. I LOVE it.) Can you tell that I'm still unemployed?!

Listening to: Lately I've become re-obsessed with The Head and the Heart (especially the song Down in the Valley,) and the newest Tallest Man on Earth album. (There's No Leaving Now is possibly the most beautiful thing ever.)

Working on: SO much stuff! I'm working on a new blog design for my good friend Emilie, some different types of embroidery, and I've started knitting some goodies for the colder weather. Loving it! (Oh and lots of cover letters and resumes of course.)

Thinking about: I'm going on a second interview on Monday and I've had my mind just revolving around it all day every day it seems. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for it to work out. I'm also trying to work out a time to get to see my man friend, this whole long distance thing is hard! I'm hoping we get to spend some time together real soon! (And he doesn't run screaming from Missouri... that Yankee doesn't know what he's in for.)

Loving: The weather, cozy clothing for said weather, the abundance of craft festivals that are all over the state, and spending so much time with my family and friends, it's been amazing. I've also gotta send a big shout out to my padre, Big Al, who just finished his first Iron Man yesterday. Not bad for a 50 year old!)

Looking forward to: Did I ever tell y'all about my absolute loooove for roller derby? I'm obsessed. Tomorrow I'll be taking my mom and brother to their first roller derby match. I'm so excited to cheer on my girl Amber Lager and the rest of the Springfield Roller Girls in their match against San Antonio. How about y'all, what are you up to today?

September Birchbox Review

Thursday, September 27, 2012

It's the end of the month so y'all know what that means...me trying to cram in all of the posts I've forgotten about for the past few weeks!  I've had my pictures of this month's Birchbox on my computer for weeks now and finally figured I'd share what I got with y'all.  I've been a bit back and forth about my past few boxes and though I'm a little on the fence about this one, it's definitely a step up from August.  Here's what we've got...
Cynthia Rowley designer Band-Aids:  I kinda had the same reaction about the band-aids that I did with last month's razor...they're really cool...but band-aids?  I'm not sure if it's the most adequate usage of a subscription box, but I totally admit that these are super cool band-aids.  Next time I get a paper cut, I'll be stylin.
Twistband hair tie: I've been wanting to try one of these hair bands for a while since I've been seeing them popping up all over beauty blogs and magazines.  I'm not much of a straight ponytail girl, mostly I pile it all up on top of my head... so the band didn't really serve the purpose of not creasing your hair for me.  Also, it's just barely enough to hold all of my hair in.  For a regular pony however, I'm totally in with the twistband.  (Also it looks like a little bow on top!)
Kate Spade twirl perfume:  I love kate spade products!  I'm becoming more and more fond of the Birchbox perfume samples because they are almost always something that I wouldn't normally seek out and they last a good amout of time.  This was another winner with me, but more for a nighttime scent, it's a little bold for the day.  Keep this up BB!
Benefit So Radiant Facial Soap and Polish:  I am totally mixed on this product, simply because one single sample isn't generally enough for me to decide if a face wash is going to work for my skin type.  That being said these face products smell AMAZING...like really the best thing I've ever put on my face... and they made my skin feel silky.  I would definitely try this one out again.
Dr. Jart's Water Infused Beauty Balm:  I've been seeing BB creams EVERYWHERE so I was super excited to try out the crazy.  I wasn't a huge fan of the coverage, it didn't seem to spread very well, but it did stay put for the entire day while feeling pretty lightweight considering the amount I had to put on to cover my skin.  I think it would be perfect for light summer wear.
Color Club nail polish:  I'm loving these little nail polishes!  This was a great color for fall, kinda navy and grey mixed together and it does a pretty good job of covering in one coat, which is a huge plus for me.  Love it.
This month's box also included a Madewell coupon and a fall look book, which I'm totally loving.  Finally instructions on how to use all of these products (and many of the others offered for the month as well.)  I can't wait to use my Madewell coupon, there are so many cute things online right now!!  What did y'all get in your boxes? If you're interested in signing up yourself, click here to get on the waitlist! xoxo Fearsy

Tattoosday: Rachel Baldwin

Tuesday, September 25, 2012

Holy crap guys, I'm so excited to share the tattoos of this amazing lady with y'all.  I'm such a fan of colorful old-school tattoos & when I saw Rachel's pretty tattoos pop up on Pinterest I had to click over for a second look.  I didn't know what I was missing.  This Brit is TALENTED.  For all of you over in the U.K., Rachel tattoos over at Modern Body Art studio in Birmingham....and boy would I be willing to take the trip to see her. You can also check out her etsy shop and facebook page, or read her blog here.  In the meantime, check out a few of my favorites below...

Fashion Review: 64th Annual Emmys

Monday, September 24, 2012

Lover of pop culture that I am, you know that I love an awards show.  My favorite shows being recognized (hello Homeland, Girls, Game of Thrones, and Downton Abbey,) the sweet, the shocked, and the award speeches...but best of all, the fashion.  I can't wait to watch the pre-show red carpet (and the fashion police after show... that Joan Rivers kills me!) There were some serious hits and some astounding misses as always (seriously Ashley Judd, fire your stylist,) so I just HAD to share some of my favorites with y'all.
I'm having a serious yellow moment lately, so it's natural that these lovely ladies caught my eye.  Leslie Mann, Claire Danes, and Julie Bowen are simply stunning in their bright and sunny hues.
Shades of blue are a go-to for me, and look so beautiful on Heidi Klum, Zooey Deschanel, and Lena Dunham.  Dunham's dress in particular was one of my favorites of the evening, regardless of what others say.  I love it's vintage vibe.
There was quite a bit of sparkle and shine on the red carpet with sequins on both Kerry Washington's beautiful dress and Hayden Panettiere's beautiful sheer dress.  I had to add in Kiernan Shipka's adorable and age-approproate dress, I always love her fashion choices.  Too cute!
These dresses in pretty fall hues caught my eye, from Ginnifer Goodwin's patterned orange dress (and always cute pixie cut,) Kellie Osbourn's beautiful one-shouldered purple number (I'm OBSESSED with her purple hair too,) and Kat Dennings looked stunning in a burnt orange strapless dress.
I once read that a well fitting suit is to women as a bikini is to men....and boy is it true.  I love a man in black tie!  I am not going to lie, I have a total crush on Peter Dinklage and Adam Driver, and I was loving the velvet blazers on all of the Big Bang boys, especially the adorable Jim Parsons. Who were your Emmy favorites this year?

An Autumn Bucket List

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

Are y'all tired of my ode to autumn posts yet?  No? Good, because I've got another for you... what can I say, I'm an addict.  Every year I have all sorts of goals for the season, things I want to do, places I want to visit, but the days seem to just speed by and suddenly it's over and I've missed out on some pretty special moments.  So this year, I decided to be a little proactive and make myself a little autumn bucket list to keep me on track.  What are some of the things you're looking forward to this fall?  xoxo Fearsy

Tattoosday: Pattern Lovers

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

Lately I've been drawn to patterns, be they on clothing or home goods, so I got so exctatic to see some of my fellow lovers of pattern and how they've been incorporated into tattoos. There aren't a whole lot out there yet, but so far, aren't the amazing?

Monthly Mixtape

Monday, September 17, 2012

Lately I have found myself going out of my way to driving down the back roads and take the long way home with the windows down and seeing signs of fall everywhere.  I'm loving the smell of wood burning stoves and that almost crisp scent in the air of earth and leaves that just signifies autumns arrival.   For me, nothing makes the experience any better than the air rushing through the jeep and new tunes playing on the radio, so I figured I'd share some of my favorite music that I can't seem to stop playing this fall.

(I decided to try out a not so new to me, but new to the blog platform; 8 Tracks.  At 8 Tracks you can search by style, mood, color, really anything that comes to mind!  It's been my go-to place to find new music for years now, but I'd never made my own playlist... so far I really like it.  Y'all can check it out here, let me know if you like it!)  Enjoy! xoxo Fearsy

Autumn Tattoos

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

It seems that I'm officially on an autumn kick, so obviously this week's tattoosday had to be autumn themed!  These are just a few of my favorite "fall themed" tats!
